Legislation

Doktor Para Sa Bayan Law

Republic Act No. 11509

Under the medical scholarship and return service program that the law creates, the government shoulders all expenses to send beneficiaries to medical schools, provided that they will work in the country for the same number of years they were under the scholarship program. After graduating and passing the board exam, the government is mandated to open up plantilla positions for beneficiaries in public health facilities.

Work-From-Home Law

Republic Act No. 11165

The Work-From-Home law institutionalizes telecommuting as a work arrangement for workers in the private sector to render work at an alternative location through the use of technology.

The law strengthens the existing Occupational Safety and Health Standards by providing penalties for noncompliance to safety and health issues in the workplace. It provides safeguards for the welfare and benefit of workers across all industries, highlighting every individual’s right to a safe and healthy workplace.

Tulong Trabaho Law

Republic Act No. 11230

The law sets up a mechanism that identifies the prevailing needs of the labor market and finances scholarships of unemployed and existing workers to training programs.

The law exempts first time jobseekers (like fresh graduates and out-of-school youth) from paying government fees and charges on documents needed for their job application.

The new law mandates that all rank-and-file and supervisory employees at restaurants, hotels and similar establishments should receive 100 percent of the service charge collected.

The PQF describes the levels of educational qualifications and sets the standards for qualification outcomes. It is a quality assured national system for the development, recognition, and award of qualifications based on standards of knowledge, skills and values acquired in different ways and methods by learners and workers of the country.

National Tech-Voc Day Law

Republic Act No. 10970

The National Tech-Voc Day celebrates the contributions of the Tech-Voc sector as an important pillar in the country’s overall human resources development strategy. Over the years, tech-voc education helped millions of Filipinos get equipped with the right skills for the right jobs.
