On DOT’s move to make Boracay casino-free

We laud the recent move of the Department of Tourism to make Boracay casino-free.

The white sand beaches of Boracay are already a perfect sight to see and we believe that building casinos on the island is unnecessary.

Hence, we support the Tourism Department in its call for the President to issue an Executive Order that will permanently ban gambling in Boracay.

Gambling promotes laziness which only depends on a game of chance. This is a complete opposite of what we intend to teach our young people.

The government should therefore promote sustainable tourism, instead of gambling, to attract more tourists to our country.
